Dave rightfully holds the title of President of St Francis Rangers.
Dave set-up Lindfield Rangers back in the early eighties after he got frustrated with Lindfield FC's lack of ambition. He always had a burning desire to get a side in to County Football and his achieved that with Lindfield Rangers as they blasted their way through the Mid Sussex Divisions. County 3 football was achieved in the 1991/2 season and Dave continued as 1st Team Manager. After a few season's at that level Dave realised that he needed to get help attracting players and recruited the ex Burgess Hill Town player and Manager Ken Swallow to take up the role as 1st Team Manager. At the end of the 1995/6 season Lindfield Rangers had started detailed merger talks with Ansty and a deal was struck to create Ansty Rangers who would retain the Lindfield Rangers County 3 status. Once again, Dave's amibition drove this merger.
The next major milestone was introduction of Kevin Keehan as 1st Manager. Kevin currently holds the Lewes FC Managers job in the conference premier division. Kevin took Rangers to within a whisker of County 2, senior football but we missed out on the final day of the season.
Due to work commitments with Brighton FC, Kevin had to stand sown as manager and the next few seasons became a real struggle for Ansty Rangers. It was decided at the end of the 2001/2 season that we would approach St Francis FC who although they were below Ansty, had far better facilities which would assist in Dave's ambitions to keep progressing. The talks were swift and a merger was struck and St Francis Rangers was created.
Within 2 years, we achived County 2 and within another 3 years we were in County 1.
Dave is still massively involved in the club and has also continued to be a major sponsor.
