Match Report - 05 Sep 2009, St Francis Rangers FC 1st Team lost to Egham Town
Rangers were at home to Egham Town in the F A vase in an even opening 10 minutes neither keeper was tested. Jake Forward started after his return to the club along with Glenn Charker .
With A little luck rangers could have taken the lead when James West lake’s chip just cleared the bar with the keeper in no mans land.
Rowley drew the first save of the day when Lehkyj got down well to his left to push the ball away for a corner.
Rangers fell behind on 36 minutes when the ball was driven in to the goal mouth and Jake Rowley managed to poke the ball home during the scramble.0-1
Rangers won a free kick through Harris when his strong run was ended when he was knocked off his feet by the lunging defender. The resulting free kick cleared the bar.

Rangers went further behind on 48 minutes when Siabi headed back across the goal and inside the post. 0-2
The game got bogged down in mid field with both teams giving away possession easily.
On 60 minutes Rangers brought on Paul Whetstone and Andy Brown for Sam Palmer and Josh Hawkes who had run themselves to a stand still .
Rangers gave themselves a lifeline when some neat passing ended with whetstones’s clever flick put Pitcher clear to slip the ball home on 66 minutes. 1-2.
Rangers made another change with Calum Cannon replacing Russell Harris on 70 minutes. Rangers looked to score a second but found the Egham captain and centre back in dominant form.
Egham sealed the victory on 80 minutes ,Rangers were pushing forward and a swift break saw Rowley score hs second when he raced away and fired home from the edge of the box. 1-3.
Rangers threw caution to the wind but to no avail only to see Simon Lehkyj make two wonderful saves to keep the score that reflected the overall game.
