Match Report - 26 Sep 2009, St Francis Rangers FC 1st Team lost to Whitehawk
Whitehawks' all-stars showed their quality but had to wait until the last three minutes of the first half to effectively win Saturday's match at St Francis Rangers with a double strike.
Up until then, despite dominating and stroking the ball around with authority, they had failed to create many chances.
Simon Lehkyj did well to turn over a free kick somewhat harshly awarded for a Glen Charker handling offence but at the other end B

Half time was fast approaching when Darren Budd tried his luck from the edge of the box and the shot took a big deflection to leave Lehkyj helpless.
Worse was to follow two minutes later when Rangers failed to clear and Josh Jones was in the right place to prosper.
It was much the same story after the break, with Hawks looking cultured but lacking a real cutting edge, while Rangers worked hard to get back in the match.
Any hopes of a revival appeared to be scuppered on 73 minutes when visiting sub Marc Whiteman bundled the ball over the line from a goalmouth scramble but within a minute home sub Sam Palmer replied.
Elliott Butler released James Westlake from a quick free kick and he cut into the box from the right before hitting a fierce drive that was parried by the keeper before Palmer hit in the rebound from six yards.
It was a disappointing day for Rangers' Geoff Pitcher as he failed to extend his scoring run to a ninth successive outing.
