Match Report
Match Report - 25 Aug 2012, St Francis Rangers FC 1st Team lost to Chichester City
Rangers lost there basement battle fixture and their 5th successive league match. Despite a lacklusture display from Rangers they still controlled the majority of the match and for the second successive game the opposition scored with their only 2 shots of the game.
Chichester were extremely poor however they converted their 2 chances which was ultimately the difference. It was a dreadful game to watch and lacked any real quality.
Pamment missed a great chance to give Rangers the lead when put clean through by Murphy but his effort was saved and then he missed with the follow up. That was punished just before the break when Chichester took the lead in spectatcular fashion when they scored with a great shot bent in from 28 yards.
Despite that set back Rangers dominated the chances and should have been level before the break but a bit of fortunate keeping and poor finishing saw them trail at the break.
Daley Clark got Rangers back in it with a bullet header from a Murphy corner and they looked like the only winner but once again some poor finishing and brilliant blocks from the home defenders kept them out. Rangers hit the bar twice and had 2 efforts cleared off the line and they were punished when a mistake from Gordon allowed the home forward a simple tap in to the empty net.
In stoppage time Rangers hit the bar again and Gordon, up for the corner, somehow managed to scoop the rebound over the bar.
5 games, all similar storyline. Rangers miss chances and the opposition take theirs.
