Reserve Team
Manager :
Laurie Cannon
Captain :
Paul Whetstone
Wets joined us in the July 2008 from local side Franklands Village. A forward with an excellent first touch. Paul scored some spectacular goals in the reserves last year and will be looking to push towards a first team spot this year.
Vice Captain :
James Baker
Players
Greg Archer
Mike Boutal
Dan Brouder
Decepitively skillful footballer. When not attempting to be a 'rock star' he likes to collect shoes and watch Pop Idol.
Andy Brown
A really bright prospect. Hard in the tackle, good on the ball and can player pretty much anywhere. Broke into the first team last season and scoring on his debut.
Elliott Butler
One word - Magician.
Elliott is a fantastically gifted player who can player at full back, out wide or central midfield.
Fittest player in the club.
Calum Cannon
Calum was a regular in the Youth set up last season and made a few appearances for the Reserves. A big season for Calum as he should start to push for more regular senior football whilst still being a major part of the youth set-up.
Stuart Church
Snoop joined us this summer from Horsted Keynes. A good addition to the squad with the abilityto play on the left or right. Also played for Haywards Heath Town with Roy Staughton
Tom Djamaluddin
Tom is comfortable anywhere along the back four. He has a fantastic presence and is really strong in the air.
He was well coveted as a young player and we are glad he chose to get his football career back on track by joining Rangers a few seasons ago.
A consistent performer who is 100% dependable.
Mark Franklin
Coach
Mark stepped down from his assistant Reserves Team Managers job as he wanted to start playing again. He has chosen to join Cuckfield Town who are now managed by old Rangers legend Brian Newton. However, Mark has stayed on the coaching staff and is a big attribute to the team.
An all round top lad who is magic in the dressing room !!
Martin Gainey
Martin, a tenacious midfielder, has been with the club since its days in Div 3 of the county league. The school teacher lists one of his hobbies as expressing his opinion to match officials.
Joshua Guerrero
Russell Harris
With his looks defying his tender years, Rusty finished last season as 2nd top goalscorer for the reserves. With his pace and natural ability he should be pushing for a regular spot with the first team this season.
Karl Hodges
Simon Lehkyj
Simon was another the players to leave Franklands Village and join Rangers in 2004/2005.
He has always been a good goalkeeper but with continued hard training and coaching by Tim Edwards he is now one of the best in the league.
He has great handling, is good with the ball at his feet and dominates his box. Simon's consistent performances are worth at least 9 points a season.
Mike Macdonald
Jamie Newsome
Dan O'Farrell
Dan has been with Rangers since our County 3 days and matured into a very talented centre half. If needed Dan can also sit in the middle of the park.
Ben Palmer
Ben was part of the successfull Burgess Hill Youth team which won the treble in 04/05 and played for the Hillians the next season. Went on to play for Haywards Heath Town for a year then joined Rangers in July 2007 and became a first team regular. Ben's twin Sam followed him to Rangers the same season and they both really good lads who work hard.
Sam Palmer
Sam is in his 2nd season with Rangers after joining from Lancing. He can play up front or our wide and has electric pace.
This season he has seen Sam put in some really good performances for the reserves and 1st teams and the goals are starting to come.
Can have a massive impact on a game with his pace and will cause defenders problems all day.
Geoff Pitcher
Pitch is in his 2nd season with us and he brings the much needed experience to our very young squad.
Geoff has played most of his football as a professional with spells at Millwall, Watford and Brighton. He also played for Stevenage, Woking, Farnborough and Havant in the Conference.
Geoff has bags of ability and can run games and make it look easy. A really good influence for our young players.
Has had more clubs than Tiger Woods but still a great character in the dressing room.
Lee Saunders
Assistant Manager
Roy Staughton
Roy is in his 2nd spell with the club and did a fantastic job with the Reserves in 07/08 season winning the Sussex County League Reserve East Section. Took the reserves to the reserve cup semi-final and Vernon Wentworth Cup Final last season.
Promoted to 1st team Manager in May 2009
Previously played for Southwick, Burgess Hill Town, Haywards Heath, East Grinstead Town and Franklands Village.
Chris Thomas
A talented young goal keeper
Jamie Topping
Original cockney Jamie signed for us last year from some London club, previously with Crawley Down and Franklands Village. Equally at home down the right or left flanks, potent crosser of the ball.
Russell Turpin
Russell is in his second season with the club. 'Dick' as he likes to be called can play anywhere across the back. Would like to be known as the clubs fashion icon.
